You know what... the Owen Gleiberman thing is super relevant to Kristen though, bc I honestly believe that a lot of the old, male writers who hate on Kristen are displaying how hopelessly out of touch with current pop culture they are. KS is a phenomenon, her fan base is so huge it's unbelievable. Its really unprecedented, especially considering the fact that she is and was hated on by the press so viciously. So obviously Kristen has tapped into a very current part of the female psyche, and I think you can also observe that through the fact that zeitgeist leaders like Nick G and Lagerfeld have chosen her to head their campaigns. I think that if Owen cannot understand Kristen's fan base, or if he's really going to make vaguely misogynistic statements like she's self centered (I take that to be misogynistic bc I think he's clearly projecting a certain female expectation on her, i.e. all women have to be happy and social all the time), then it shows that he's hopelessly out of touch with the current direction of pop culture. So in that way, his condemnation of Kristen was indicative of a general problem he had, which was inability to connect with a great number of movie goers
