Hello Sydney,

At this moment I am putting a page together with several pics of Rebecka Liljeberg in the movie Bear's kiss. As far as the top 10 is concerned, which films have you seen already? Paris, Texas has always been my no. 1 till I saw Fucking Åmål of course.  Have you seen Paris, Texas? Maybe it's an idea to have the top 10's of members on this site somehow. I will think about this. In the meantime you can always post your top 10

To be honest I have not seen Paris,Texas, have just heard of it as of a very good film, though.I'll try to rent it from the nearest video store as soon as possible. Thanks for your recomendation, anyway.
Well,I have seen of these you mentioned: Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo,Tillsammans, 2001: A Space Odyssey
Btw,I'm fascinated with Lukas' projects although I saw just 2 of his films, and I'll have to wach Lilja 4ever,too.
Yep,I agree with that idea.Oh,the ten is to much

Maybe people from S & M who would like to have FÅ on DVD could write to Vans, who released the Video in Serbia and Montenegro. But I do not think they are distributing DVD's, looking at their site.

I doubt, cuz I don't know anyone who had the chance to see this amazing film.
And yes, you're right, acording to some informations seemingly they aren't distributing dvd's,so I'll have to satisfy with vhs,but anyway, better that way then noway.

@Styvisor
Thanks,
But I will say that this is one of the most informative sites dedicated to Fucking Amal on the net.

So it's true ;)

Yep, I think it is a love story which couldn't get more dramatic than this one. I do not want to tell too much, but sometimes there has happened too much to heal the love between two people. That's a bit what it is about!

What did you think of Christiane F: Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo? The feelings I had after seeing this movie are almost the same as after watching lilja 4-ever. Btw what are your favourite movies? Well, the movies not mentioned in this topic. :)

Hi again Sydney!

Well,I have watched it a bit after seeing FÅ ,so the feeling I had was kinda similar and very strange,(so I like them)and although these are two different movie they are both very realistic telling us about teenagers and stuff.Btw,do you know the name of main actress in it(Christiane F) and perhaps some other movie with her?I would really like to see one.

Here are just some of which I can recall at the moment:
When a man loves a woman-Luis mandoki
Heavenly Creatures-Peter Jackson
The virgin suicides-Sofia Coppola
GodfatherIII-F.F.Copolla
Clockwork Orange-Stanley kubrick
November rain
Lost and delirious-Lea Pool
Requiem for a Dream
Trainspotting-danny boyle
Lolita-both kubric's and lynes

Hey,I have noticed on some other forum as well as this one(cannot remember where exactly) that what you discussed about favorite music, and just to say that i like your music's taste,it is pretty much as same as mine ;)

Christiane F is very shocking and realistic indeed. The name of the actress playing Christiane is <a href='http://www.imdb.com/Name?Brunckhorst,,Natja' target='_blank'>Natja Brunkhorst</a>. I have only seen Der Krieger und die Kaiserin in which she has a small part. It is really worth watching btw.

Nice movie list you have. I haven't seen a few of them. But they are on my list now. :)

Great! :) We discussed the favourite music on the Rebecka forum. I think music plays a huge role in movies. It always gives the movie a more dramatic side or even a funny or happy side. That is why the choice of music in movies is very important. Lukas Moodysson has shown that he is able to choose the right music in his movies (FÅ, Tillsammans, Lilja 4-ever). Too bad that the soundtracks are not for sale forever. The FÅ soundtrack is out of print and the Lilja 4-ever soundtrack will be out of print soon. :(

Greetz,

Thanks for the info.I'll take your recommendation, though I doubt if I'll find this title you mentioned, cuz i live in a pretty small "fucking"town and we've got the chance seeing mostly ones from holywood's production. Not that I don't like america's movies, but I'm pretty sure, there are a lot of films of european cinematography that portray every day life more natural . In any case I will try.

Nice movie list you have. I haven't seen a few of them. But they are on my list now.

:D
Talking about the movies, I have just seen one,it is titled Late Night Shopping(2001) and I must say I loved it.it is a low-budget British comedy with an excellent cast, directed by Saul Metzstein. Also, during the film we can hear some of great eightie's sounds, among all,Foreigner's I want to know...
If you have not, ckeck it out,in my humble opinion film is 'echt tof' :)

Great!  We discussed the favourite music on the Rebecka forum

Nah...,I remember it now...a very nice topic,anyway

It always gives the movie a more dramatic side or even a funny or happy side.

I agree, and what the movies will be like without the music?I cannot imagine
All in all music plays a huge role,so that sometimes the caracters, they don't need words to express all the emotions, sometimes the music is enough.
And Lukas's personal music taste might be good, too. At least it is what i can say for FA,music is perfect!

Ahh,...I and my english

hej då

I can't agree more. European films are not all spoiled by large sums of money. That is why I feel that European movies (or Asian) are more realistic.

When it comes to your small "fucking" town, I would visit your local video rental shop and ask the man/woman behind the counter whether he is satisfied with his Hollywood collection. ;) He probably is, but you'll have some good suggestions. :D

Btw how large is this town. Åmål like?

Talking about the movies, I have just seen one,it is titled Late Night Shopping(2001) and I must say I loved it.it is a low-budget British comedy with an excellent cast, directed by Saul Metzstein. Haha! If this movie is "echt tof" then I have to go and see it. :) So, you speak dutch? ;) I love the eighties and so do you probably. You already said our taste was quite the same. So, when it comes to good music and movies I am always in for it.

Plot summary Late night shopping: Four young friends have tedious nightjobs and meet every night after work in a cafe. Sean hasn't met his girlfriend in three weeks, Vincent flirts with everybody, Lenny is too afraid to ask a girl at work on a date and Jody can't admit that she shows up at the cafe every night, although she was fired some time ago.

This looks very promissing indeed.

Ahh,...I and my english
It is quite good actually. :) Btw, are the movies in S & M subtitled or dubbed? Personally I hate dubbing. I sometimes think that dubbing gives turns to a movie that the director did not intended. The Netherlands/Flanders, UK (in general) and Scandinavia are a few countries which do not dub films. Most of the larger countries do.

*Listening to Gary Jules singing Mad World I leave you* :)

dovidenja en de groetjes,

Hi Sydney,
well,I don't know much about "real"Amal town,but
the town I live in has about 16.500 inhabitants,so it is something among village and city, let's just call it town.
But,not the fact that it is not large reminds me on Amal, actually.
The thing that bothers me is that nothing especially ever happens here,
the new trends are not new anymore while they reach here ,so i can understand of how Agnes and Elin were feeling.I'm kind of in the same situation toward the town and people in it. Simply I feel stuck here, and so sometimes I desperate and long to escape...

Hehe,I don't speak dutch,I'm just pretending <_<

Seeing I am an "eighties's child", I adore the music of this period.I'm a bit nostalgic for those times, though I can't remember it vividly.

We have subtitles here.I also dislike dubbing, and agree with you that it gives turns to a movie that the director did not intended.
I guess it is a kind of violation against masterpieces like it is Fucking Amal for e.g.But it is just my personal opinion, because I have not seen FA dubbed, just the original version.
vidimo se(see you) ;)

I can understand that! Especially when you are speaking about the trends. This is idd the same feeling as in FÅ, where Elin and Jessica noticed that "rave" was on the utelistan of the Vecko-Revyn. Not the centre of the world, I would say.

You said you feel that you are stuck there? Have you ever tried to look for possible ways to "escape"?

You mean, you grew up in the eighties? or were you born then?
I grew up in the eighties and that's a period I can remember very well, including all the music and movies I saw in that period. Damn, I am listening to Duran Duran again!!!! ;)

Hehe...,no I just tought about how it would be cool, but would never dare to do it.Besides I still have no car licence, neither my own car.I guess I would have to hitchihike, but the end will be as same as in FA,so nothing of that at all :P

Actually, I was born then('85),and can't remember of most of the things that happend then, but now I'm trying to make up for it,through watching movies and listening the music from the period of "gold eighties"

Duran Duran rules! Was so excited when they got the "Lifetime achievement award"on the Mtv.They really deserved it. ;)

I think that the end of FÅ was rather encouraging. It gives you that sense of wellbeing and the boost to try something different.

Is "Gold Eighties" a radio station in your country? Here in The Netherlands the radio station Veronica will start new programming. Only music of the eighties and nineties. Not only dutch people can hear it. It is available on <a href='http://www.garnierprojects.com/streamingmedia/veronica/veronica.asx' target='_blank'>live stream</a>. I am listening to the first minutes of it now. Really great!!! B)

I was not aware of this, but they really deserve it yes. I was a big fan back in the eighties. What bands of the eighties do you like particularly?

bye and hej då,
