Caught up with the U-tube versions of episodes 1 to 4 of Sugar Rush today, so that now puts me in sync with the series on tv. Good show, and so funny too. "Only virgin with an std" very funny stuff.

Ian, I trust you are aware of this site which will give you the codes for just about any dvd player to make it "all region".

I have to stop impulse buying DVDs especially the more expensive foreign language ones. I am good at shopping around though and find the odd gem in charity shops or on stalls on the market. Some ***hole in Loughborough has the same taste as me though, cos I do the round of the shops and stalls, note what I might buy, but when I go back find he/she has beaten me to it! There aren't many that I have OCD over but ocasionally go into a viewing frenzy over some. FA/SML was like that although I have successfully reduced my dosage now. 8) ''Water Lilies" is still a major fix for me. Some films like ''Dirty Rotten Scoundrels'' are a must when I have a particular mood on.

Impulse buying is only good if you've done enough research beforehand. Going out into the cold light of day could be dangerous because there's no computer to do a quick check of imdb or Rotten Tomatoes or anything. The adrenalin rush that goes with impulse buying is a big plus, but only if it's worth the cash you've outlayed.

Liked Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, only seen Water Lilies on U-tube but it looks pretty good too. Not convinced I will buy it though.

Ha ha, fish, I fiddled my dvd recorder the other day to make it multi-region. Heh heh heh! I've also downloaded this free software called DVD Flick that can 'author' a dvd filled with mpegs - like all the stuff I download from YT - and make it playable on all players. So I've started using that too! :D

Water Lilies is good. No FA, but I don't regret buying and I'll certainly watch it again sometime.

Hey Snaps, DRS is a classic!

Just type it into google, it'll come up straight away. It's free and only takes a couple of minutes to download. It's easy enough, though you've got to be careful with the menus to make sure you do it right. It seems to work fine - I watched the first disc I did on Saturday night - and I've done another. I'll do the other 9 sometime. If it means they'll play on any dvd player, rather than have to worry "does this play mpegs?", that seems pretty good to me. Couldn't see any difference in picture quality, and you get nice proper menus too. Cool! :D

I'll let you know how it goes.
I only hope you've taken my complete lack of intelligence into account when you said "It's easy enough". :T

Now, given enough slaves, I could rebuild the great pyramid in less time than it's taking me to work DVD Flick out. If things don't improve soon I'm going to have to resort to reading the instructions.   _O^

_O_  :D :Y ^O^
Somehow I now seem to have Sherdil on a dvd and can veg out in front of a big screen tv instead of peering at a computer screen to see the lovely Rebecka. :D
I suppose I could have started with less of a challenge, like a couple of U-tube clips or something, but what the hey..... And I never even got round to putting the final coat of paint on the pyramid in the time it took. I am pleased.
Thank's Ian. :D

I'm so pleased with my own achievement that I think I should also congratulate you on yours. ^O^
2:10am eh? I guess that's like 3:40pm over here. I admire your persistence sticking at it for so long. Where did you hide it?

Strangest thing...the actual DVD was in the the case for my Simpsons Christmas DVD and in my SML case was one of my Everybody Loves Raymond DVD's.

Easy enough to confuse the two (or three) I suppose  . Don't you just hate it when that happens?
Had any sleep yet or are you staying up to watch SML/FÅ?

DVD Flick works really well with only one complaint. When the movie/clip/whatever reaches a dark spot, like a fade out/in or even a scene in a dark room, the picture and any audio breaks up a little and sort of goes into "pause" mode for about a half second or so before resuming normal play. :? I even burned some stuff on another disc at a slower speed, but the same thing happens.
Ian, are you finding this blip as well or do you actually know what you're doing?

Um, no, I can't say I've noticed that as yet. Are you sure it wasn't the end of that particular mpeg or whatever? I mean, if you're watching Sherdil, presumably that's 12 mpegs put together..? It always pauses at the end of one. I don't know, I'm only guessing. Do I know what I'm doing? Rarely. I screwed the first disc up by not ticking 'enable menu'. That probably wouldn't matter if it was something like Sherdil, but for 50 different mpeg clips, it would have been a serious pain in the keyster!

Glad you found SML, Kyle, but tsk tsk at putting dvds in the wrong boxes! :P

Anyhoo, started season 3 of Buffy again last night. It's been just over 9 months since I finished season 2, and OH, how I've missed this show! I didn't even realise how much until it was back on my telly. Glorious, glorious stuff.
My second favourite tv show of all time.
