From my window: afternoon slowly changing into evening.

In Åmal, pitch black. Some cars go by, a person by the river watches the water flow... Then he resumes walking. It must be damn cold there.

Been raining.
All along the edges of the road where the cars park, looks like ice.
No wonder they stay indoors at night.

10:45 Mon.
A light coating of snow over everything except the vehicle tracks on the road.
You only get to see that in the high country over here, and not this time of year.

Looks great but I bet it's cold.

Duuh!

22:15 Tues.
The snow's still there bathed in the Christmas lights, but some untidy bastards have left their footprints all over it.
Don't they realise how good it looks unsullied? Now it just looks like freezing cold sludge.
Why can't they just be a bit more neat.

Then again, I suppose I don't have to suffer the cold, do I?

Stinking hot here today so I've come for a bit of a cold fix.

08:45 in Åmål and there's a fresh coat of snow over everything. Even the sky shows no sign of the sun peeking through.
A few people and cars moving but it still looks very quiet.

Best of all, all those untidy footprints are gone.

Love it. Unless you have to live there I suppose.

I love Åmål cam, when it works. A small town cam that updates every second or so is just brilliant.

I mean, even most of the cams in a big city like London only update every few minutes. That's boring.

At least Åmål cam is full on action, even when nothing is happening.

Tiger cam is working. We seem to have all the tigers dozing away inside, not a single one out in the snow.
There's a surprise.

Around 07:15 Fri. Åmål cam is dead again.

and guess who went out into the snow?


Probably just went out to paint the snow yellow.

Around 09:30 Christmas eve and they've hoisted the Swedish flag to add to the festive cheer.

Cold, dark and desolate on the mean streets of Åmål this morning.
Everyone must have finished their Christmas shopping already and they're all resting up for the big do tomorrow.
