Still raining.
Pitch black.
Some fool walking with umbrella.

When it rains in Adelaide it means it's a mistake and it stops.
So dry.
So hot. *:|*

11:20 Wed
*:)* The flågs are back.

Not enough wind to see what's there but at least the one on the left looks new as it has a lot of white on it.
Somethings going to happen, I can tell. There are people walking around checking them out and all.

The excitement is building to a fever pitch. *:)*
That lady in the red coat is wheeling her zimmer frame past at an alarming rate.

OK, where are the flag experts?

I'm suffering RBI at the moment so I'm having trouble thinking.

Flag on the left. Blue, Black, White horizontal bands.
2nd from right. Wrapped around the pole but seems to be Yellow, Blue (might be green), Red horizontal bands.

Any ideas where & why?

Only caught a glimpse this morning. I thought the first on left was dark blue, white, light blue but it could be (a) I had a hangover :T or (b) they are flying it upside down  I can't find it anywhere. The other flags are the EU standard and the Swedish national flag. The other one was so stuck to the pole with rain I couldn't see anything. I've just checked again. It's pitch black in Amal and only 4.00pm CET, but at least they've got the right time display on the webcam now. Lots of glum people sluggishly making their way home. Anyone would think its a wet weekend in Amal! :D Ooooops, I forgot  It is :( Some muscly girls in white hoodies walking about, they must be the Female contingent of the Allcomers Annual Reindeer Synchronized Wrestling contest. :Z

Sounds like it must be "Say hello to the neighbours" week in Åmål.

'round midday Saturday.
Sun shining, flags waving, people freezing.

Looks great. :W

That bottle on the roof is really beginning to annoy the crap outta me. You'd think someone there would notice? I guess local functionaries are the same the world over. :Y I wonder what went on with Latvia. Maybe they fell out with Amal? and another thing, why don't they put the water back in the salmon pool. It looks stupid. It's not like it's freezing over there yet. Over here where I am its been a bit drizzly on and off but it's nowhere near cold yet, no frost or anything, and we've had some bright sunny days too this week. Eeeek 4pm and its getting dark in Amal. I've noticed twilight over there lasts about ten minutes. One minute its light, quarter of an hour later it's pitch black.

08:40 Sunday in Åmål.
No sun on the solar panels today, it's dark, wet and dreary looking.
That suspicious white van has been there all night. Perhaps it the Latvian delegation waiting to deliver their flag. If only someone would climb on top of it they could see that bloody bottle still on the roof. *:|*

Find the email address of someone in Amal and send them an email about the bottle, snaps. It'd really freak 'em out.

4pm CET. Dark night has descended like a black velvet ghost on the town, weeping sheets of rain onto the grave-cold tarmac. A lonely discarded bottle the medium and message, an act of felicious frivolity. The dying ember of resistance to the gray apathy and cold numbing boredom of a town without hope.

09:30 Tues
All the gloom has melted away with the warming rays of a distant sun. Life is vibrant in this tiny town and its inhabitants are now living it to the full.
Hope has returned anew. *:)*

If only the bottle would go. *:|*

Sounds like you're the one who's been at the bottle  Even Amal looks better through beer goggles.

Nuff said, the webcam is out of action YET again. I've noticed they do this every time I make a sarky comment. I detect conspiracy theory here: smoking gun, grassy knoll? forget it - ''the bottle on the roof'' conspiracy. Product placement for Pepsi Cola if you ask me. We need Lisbeth Salander on this case to expose the corporate corruption and blatant tourism trade-in on the good name of FA.

Camera back up! I pwomis I'll be nice about them now. :)

The dark blue curtain of night sky gently pulling back to reveal another great day in Amal. The flags fluttering like black bats restless with the released energy of daylight. the town shaking off its sleepiness ready to greet another promising day.
