DVD Flick. Flick'd another mix dvd this week and sat down last night to watch it, only to find that almost all the YT downladed ones (yet none of my own, for some reason) had been "squashed down" onto the screen. Why in God's name it's done that (and the original files aren't like that), I've no idea. Narked.

A computer, like its programs, is designed to help you.
It's much more intelligent and knows what you meant to do, so it does it for you.

On the theme of ... my bastard laptop wont close down. I put in a DVD last night. Intervideo went to where I closed it down last time when I got interupted. OK fine thank you. now go back to the beginning, I want to watch it through from the start. no NO! it refused to obey my instructions. I gave it a sound thrashing with my riding crop. Try again. This time the bloody program wouldnt close down. Serious punishment time. Still no response, then it refused to close down altogether. I've had to keep it on charge cos gawwd knows what will happen if it drains the battery. So what do I do next? answers please ....

Other than suggesting taking an axe to it, I'm afraid I'm not much help there, snapsie. Never had a laptop. Sounds like that may be just as well!

Whenever I mention your name to Moa these days she starts carrying on about thigh high, high heeled, patent leather boots which you wore with riding spurs. She tells me she would do anything to please after a little workout with them.

Maybe your appliances would be as compliant.

Talking of boots, went into PC World today. At least they got the laptop to shut down and restart, although they did ask me about the strange lash marks on the lid Came out of the store, wham! heel comes straight of my boots. Only had them a coupla months, worn about six times. I'm sick and tired of being sold tat and kak by so-called reputable British shops. Grrrrr.

Hearing the first xmas song on the radio before December had even kicked in Furthermore, received my first Xmas card yesterday. Like WTF? creep. I posted it back to him with a SAE suggesting he re-post it to me a little nearer the festive season.

If you're like Oz you can hardly find any footware that's not made out of rice husks by some poor little sod sitting in a sweatshop in Sumatra. I mean, what d'ya expect supporting multinational slave driving crooks, quality?

Traipsing out to JB to pick up the new Who dvd that was supposed to be out last week... and it's not in. Nor did they have Trick R Treat. Or Kurt Wallander, which I was actually considering buying.

Way to lose custom, dudes.

Bit narked. Doctor Who -Twin Dilemma DVD was released here last week, went down on Monday (since last time I went on the release date it hadn't come in yet ), no sign of it. Went again today, still not in.

I've ended up buying it (from oz) off ebay. And they're complaining about online shopping killing the high street. Maybe if "the high street" actually got things in occasionally...

I used to have a local dvd store that I bought from, until they stopped carrying much stock. I had to order things in and then wait about two months for anything to arrive.

Strangely that store's closed now.
