With her pay-check from two films in one year, she should ship us all over for a private screening *:)* :P
(Or maybe on the production company's expense  )

This is the official release right?
Any indication on showing Astro anywhere outside Brazil?

None that I've seen.
I guess it depends on audience reaction which might give any distributor a clue that there's a dollar to be made.

I think these are reviews. Gurgle has translated them from Portugese but I'm not sure into what language. :T

Rolling Stone Brazil.
"Astro - A Fable Urbana in a Rio de Janeiro Magic unites film and contemporary art
Film is part of transmedia storytelling project and has as one of its intentions to extend the reach of art

The fable and magic words in the title of the movie are already symptomatic of the story well told that the director of short films and commercials Paula Trabulsi this long in his debut. Astro - A Fable Urbana Rio de Janeiro in a Wizard is not a traditional film. But we only realize it after watching. His proposal is to be part of a wider project involving visual arts, street culture, cuisine and urban interventions, in addition to "sessions happening", which involved the screening of the film added to these interventions, special menu and decor outlets partners in Rio and São Paulo. The whole thing may sound slightly hippie or even a little pretentious, but this impression disappears when watching the movie.

This is a very simple story, very reminiscent of so many others we've seen before, but sweet and sensitive. Incidentally, the plot seems to be an excuse for the rest of the set, so mundane. A girl, Astro, played by the great Swedish actress Alexandra Dahlström arrives with all its pomp and European shyness in Rio de Janeiro and gives right away with speaker Alice (Veronica Debom), who shows her the magic of this city. As a lawyer in her slippery Bunny Alice (Cláudio Cavalcanti) helps in the release of an inheritance, a girl becomes a bit of your personality to another, on a journey of discovery until very predictable.

But the script does not matter in the film, which, as already explained, is not just a long, integrates a transmedia storytelling project. Paula made the film because I wanted to know if I could get people interested in art, according to Rolling Stone Brazil account. "I could not do more than two people in my family to go with me to an exhibition," he says. She ensures that the same script eventually became secondary: "The history is to be simple," he says, explaining that the focus is on the strangeness that the protagonist feels, that is what art interacts. So, following the logic of mixed vegetables to foods more palatable for children, she mixed contemporary art and cinema, an art much more widespread and much less suffering prejudice, to cause a greater interest in the works of the artists invited to participate in the project . Among them were Shima, who has a job that makes those tapes plastic insulation used by police, and German Clemens Behr, which creates a metaphor for the bureaucracy, as the scenes unfold at the Chambers. Completing the team, Regina Duarte has a cameo and Odilon Wagner also participates.

Despite the artistic concepts interesting, the film draws attention even in photography, extremely well crafted, and the perception of the use of the projects of artists on the scene. It is worth noting that even the product placement of production well was married to the topic and, within this collaborative proposal widely in opening credits to the film director signs next to the name of everyone who participated in the production.

Astro - A Fable Urbana in a Rio de Janeiro Magic enters only circuit in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro on Friday, 2."

Folha de S. Paulo.
Critic: Aesthetics advertising makes life in 'Astro', appears to have been sanitized Advertising
RICARDO CALIL
CRITICAL LEAF

It is not a simple task to define the aesthetics of advertising. But when you face them (as in the case of "Astro - A Fable Urbana in a Rio de Janeiro Magic"), it's easy to recognize her. Trabulsi Paula is an experienced and award winning advertising director. But not only your resume determines the aesthetics of "Astro".

Sponsor A car appears several times throughout the projection (and part of the cast in movie site). Some say that part of the game film today.

The aesthetics of advertising, in this case, relates to certain asepsis images, as if they had been sterilized to avoid the ugly, dirty, unclean: this is not salable.

The problem is that in this process, life also tends to be left out.

This becomes clear in a brief scene where Astro, the protagonist bumps into a barbecue cat sold on the streets of Rio: thanks for aesthetics, not only the food looks appetizing and absolutely hygienic.

The daughter of a Brazilian mother and Swedish father, the young Astro (Alexandra Dahlström) leaves Sweden to visit Rio, where he will receive an inheritance from the old house of his grandfather.

She meets Alice (Veronica Debom) and his group of friends and start a process of personal transformation.

The director does not try to escape the cultural clichés. Prior seems to get them: Swedish is cold, systematic, suspicious; Brazilian girlfriend, hot, spontaneous, generous.

To this, add up some scenes of artistic interventions and a bunch of pompous phrases ("the dark may be comfortable, but the light is alive," said by a blind).

But the aesthetic advertising, again it ends up matching what is realistic and what is fable, which is narrative and what is performance.

But as it is a movie, not a publicity never becomes clear what one is selling: Brazil's image abroad, contemporary art, a car or barbecue cat."

Not sure about the "barbeque cat". :r

And another synopsis.

Think I might have to read it all again. :?

Talking to Astro, Henry, Odilon Wagner's character, is listening carefully while the Swedish girl gets some things out of her chest, when he says: "Swedish drama, ah." Check out this and other dialogues of ASTRO - an urban fable in a magical Rio de Janeiro. Now in theaters.

In the movie, Astro and Alice, gaze at the stars from the room of the protagonist, in which the sky looks full of stars. This is a result of the pos-production work done by the São Paulo's talented company, Mistika. Here the scene is in the exact way it was filmed. Different isn't it?! Want to see the starry sky of ASTRO? Run to the movie theaters. The movie is in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo theaters.

That's not exactly a king size bed, is it...but I'm sure, with a small amount of determination, it's room enough for both of them! :)P

Fear Rio and Sâo Paulo is a bit too far a run though *:|*
